MILLBURY - George Bott passed away May 14th which was his 91st birthday.
He leaves his wife of 59 years Christine A. (Brooks) Bott and their five sons; Fred and wife Pam; Joseph and wife Karen; George, Jr. and wife Jen; Steven; and John and wife Christina. He also leaves seven grandchildren; Samantha Vasquez and husband Carlos, Peter, Brian, Kelly, Emily, Ethan, and Cecelia Bott; and great granddaughter Sophia Papaioannou, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Jane Rivers, Mary Dusak, and Eleanor Gregory, a brother, Fred James who was killed in Korea whose body he accompanied back to the United States, and Russell Peter who was MIA in Vietnam.
He was born in North Easton, MA, son of Mary Koscinczyk and Fred Bott. He spent three years in the Army and seventeen years in the Air Force. He did one tour of duty in Korea and three in Vietnam. He lived 49 years in Millbury. He belonged to Vernon Hill Post, Dudley Gendron Post, and was a member of the PNI club. He worked for ten years at New England Grocers. He was very active in POW/MIA National League of Families and Gold Star Families.
George coached Millbury Little League for many years. He very much enjoyed watching all his sons’ and grandchildren’s sports and activities. His greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren! Although, Keno was a close second.
Family and friends will celebrate George’s life by joining for his memorial Mass on Thursday, May 19th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be private.
