SHREWSBURY - George Paul Cammuso of Shrewsbury, died Friday, December 21, 2012 in his home, after an illness.
Mr. Cammuso was born in Millbury on May 3, 1927. He was the son of Frank and Jennie (Monfreda) Cammuso. He attended Millbury schools. Mr. Cammuso began his career as an auto body specialist at the former Jewett Auto Body where he worked for twenty-three years. Subsequently, he operated an auto body shop at West Lenox Garage for four years. Mr. Cammuso owned and operated the Crusader Auto Body business on Ballard Street in Worcester from 1973 until 2000. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Auburn. Mr. Cammuso volunteered for UMASS Memorial Hospice. In addition, he enjoyed wearing costumes to various hospitals and nursing homes to visit the patients and residents.
Mr. Cammuso is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Scott Cammuso. He leaves two sons, George Cammuso and his wife Pamela of Douglas and Scott Joubert of Oxford, a daughter Andrea Paquette and her husband Michael of Millbury and Linda Vicario and her husband David of Shrewsbury. He leaves twelve grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Brian Cammuso, Michael and Arianna Paquette, Jennifer, Morgyn, Korra, Seth, and Brooklin Joubert, Jonathan and Nicholas Vicario and three great-grandchildren, Braden, Madison, and Carsyn Cammuso. He is also survived by four brothers, Frank and his wife Connie of Millbury, Nicholas of Sterling, Andrew and his wife Norma of Millbury, Albert and his wife Jacqueline of Worcester, and three sisters, Philomena Felice and Rosalie Bennes of Millbury, and Frances Ciampaglia of West Boylston. He also leaves a godson, Keith Scott of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Angelo and Paul Cammuso predeceased him. His first wife Frances (Giabatti) Cammuso died in 1975.
A Funeral Mass celebrating George's life will be held on Monday December 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mulhane Home for Funerals, in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
