MILLBURY - George R. Davis, 81, of 253 Millbury Ave., died Thursday, Oct. 3, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Violet M. (Gibree) Davis; a daughter, Linda L. Fowler of Worcester; two sons, G. Raymond Davis Jr. of Millbury and Robert E. Davis of Worcester; two brothers, Timothy Davis of Silver Springs, Colorado and Warren Davis of Whitinsville; a sister, Mary Alexandrowicz of Millbury; eleven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Archer and Johanna (Crimmins) Davis and has lived in Millbury for 56 years.
Mr. Davis was a finish grinder at Wyman-Gordon Company for 13 years and Lusignan Brothers for 20 years both in Worcester, retiring in 1986. He was a Navy veteran during WW II.
He was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church. He was a Millbury Little League baseball and basketball coach and was an organizer of the Millbury Babe Ruth Baseball League. He was an avid bowler and fisherman.
The funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 7 from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., (

) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 01701.
