MILLBURY – George H. Kane, 69, of 22 Elm Court, passed away Friday, May 9th peacefully, after a short struggle with cancer, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home on Coes Pond in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his beloved wife and partner of 39 years, Dolores L. (Casasanto) Wells Kane; a son, Troy Kane of Dudley; a step-daughter, Gail Corrigan and husband Kevin of Creedmoor, NC; four step-sons, Bradford Wells and his partner, Anthony Makk of California, Kevin Wells, Michael Wells and his wife Karen of Shrewsbury and Timothy Wells and his wife Denise of Cary, NC; two brothers, Richard Kane and his wife Elizabeth of Maine and William Kane Sr. and his wife Judy of Millbury; a sister, Patricia Laganelli of Boylston; nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. George was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents George P. and Jeanette (Buron) Kane.
George owned and operated G&D Auto and Truck in Millbury for many years. He was a Navy veteran and served from 1956 to 1959. He enjoyed motor-homing and traveling with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending winters in Boca Raton, Florida. George was an active member of the Millbury Lions Club for 25 years. His favorite thing was spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 14th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Monahan Hospice Home in care of VNA Care Network, Inc.
