Gerald "Jerry" Gemme, 70, passed away Monday, Dec. 26th in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Gerald leaves his sweetheart of over 30 years, Candace L. Martinelli; his sister, Patricia DiCandia and her husband, Victor of Oxford; his brother, Ted Gemme and his wife, Cynthia of Webster; three nephews, Scott D. Wharton, Robert Martinelli, Mark Gemme and Michael Wharton; two nieces, Stephanie Holstead and Erika Wharton; many other extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Leo Paul and Doris (Renaud) Gemme.

Jerry was a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam on the USS Hornet, which was the recovery vessel for Apollo 11 & 12. Jerry was an enthusiastic guitar player and the lead guitar player in the band Broadsword. He was a gourmet cook and loved gardening. Jerry owned and operated his DJ business and was the Master of Ceremonies of Starlight Entertainment. He was a custom wood designer and had his own business called Custom Design and Fabrication. He was Chief Audio Engineer and toured with such bands as Aerosmith, Blood Sweat & Tears, Kenny Loggins, Fleetwood Mac, Chick Corea and Tony Bennett, just to name a few. Jerry will always be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and creativity.

Jerry's calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31st with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in Webster.
