AUBURN Harold A. "Wiggie" Lachapelle, 83, formerly of 85 Pakachoag Village and of Millbury, died Thursday, Dec. 8th after an illness.
His wife, Bernice E. (Davidson) Lachapelle died last year. He leaves two daughters, Jane Guilfoyle of Auburn and Brenda J. Lachapelle of Leicester; three sons, Robert P. Lachapelle of Douglas, Richard A. Lachapelle of Grafton and Paul K. Lachapelle of Leicester; a brother, Russell Lachapelle of Ocala, FL; a sister, Sr. Beatrice Lachapelle of Petersham; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a daughter, Bertha Ann Lachapelle. He was born in Millbury, son of Noe and Antonia (Lamoureux) Lachapelle.
He was a sales representative for Sears & Roebuck Co. in Southbridge for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He resided in Florida for many years. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was active for many years in Millbury Little League Baseball, Pee Wee Basketball and Softball. He loved football, baseball and spending time with his family.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13th, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12th in the funeral home.
