MILLBURY – Helen M. (Trocki) Wassell, 86, died Wednesday, August 19th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a brief illness.

Helen's husband, of 57 years, Michael J. Wassell, Sr., died in 1998. She leaves a daughter, Sheila Young and her husband, Danny of Florida; four sons, Michael J. Wassell, Jr., of Worcester, Richard W. Wassell and his wife Terry of Sutton, Robert J. Wassell of Millbury and Walter R. Wassell of Auburn; five grandchildren, Robert and his girl friend Michelle Lager, Laura, Scott and his wife Christina, Heidi, Heather Wassell and Cheyenne Young; four great-grandchildren, Benny, Eli, Jude and Asher Wassell; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wassell was born in Chelsea on March 31, 1923 and is predeceased by her parents Bolislaw and Mary (Michalowski) Trocki, a son, David, a sister, Dorothy (Tatro) DiCandia and a brother, Walter Tatro. She was raised in Chelsea and Worcester and has lived in Millbury for 48 years.

In the 1950's and 60's Helen worked in several area factories to help support her family. Helen and her husband, Michael enjoyed Polish dancing and traveling to Polish events with their friends, for many years. She enjoyed her dog Missy, bingo, visiting the Millbury Senior Center and their bus trips to Foxwoods.

Helen's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 24th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
