WORCESTER – Henry J. Szklarz, 87, died Thursday, March 12th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
His wife, Rita C. (Szlyk) Szklarz died in 2007. He leaves five sons, Henry J. Szklarz Jr. of New Woodstock, CT, Richard P. Szklarz of Auburn, Steven W. Szklarz of CT, David E. Szklarz of Worcester and John M. Szklarz of Alaska; a daughter, Carolyn R. Tavares of Brookfield; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Poland and is predeceased by his parents, Felix and Kastazina Szklarz, two sisters, Adeline Conner and Jane Pusateri and two brothers, Chester F. Sklarz and Stanley B. Szklarz.
Henry worked for the Wyman-Gordon Company in Worcester for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and traveling.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, March 17th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 3 Wiser Ave. in Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16th in the funeral home.
