Herbie was born in Fall River and was raised in Millbury, where he graduated from Millbury Memorial High School. His incredible work ethic began with his career at Wright Line, his employer of several years. He had numerous jobs throughout the years and worked up until his death at Hannaford's and the Hurley House, both in Waltham. He loved his jobs and the friends he made there. He was also a member and the Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus on Circuit Ave. in Worcester for many years.
Herbie was an avid sports fan, always rooting for his Boston teams, especially the Red Sox. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as watching ESPN, going to the gym and spending time at the casino with his sisters. Herbie was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He was often described as being laid back, selfless, caring and genuine. He was also known as being a strong leader and friend to the guys at the Hurley House. He truly loved being with his daughters and grandsons and sharing his love of sports.
His family would like to thank the incredible team at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, especially his nurses, Christine and Aubrey, for the care, compassion and comfort they gave to Herbie during this difficult time.
