SUTTON - Herbert E. "Woody" Wood, 74, of 23 Heritage Road, died Friday, Feb. 14, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Irene M. (Scucko) Wood; three daughters, Patricia A. James of Oxford, Michigan, Donna M. Wood of Sutton and Lisa J. Pulsifer of Leominster; a sister, Marie Rosenlund of West Boylston; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, John and Ronald Wood and a sister Frances Anderson, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Herbert E. Wood Sr. and Edith R. (Turnquist) Wood and has lived in Sutton 33 years.
Mr. Wood was a manager at Fairway Beef Company, in Worcester, where he worked for 50 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Sutton Council on Aging.
The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 17, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, ( www.mulhane.com ) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be private in Howard Cemetery. Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Sutton Fire Department Gift Account, in care of the Sutton Fire Department, 4 Uxbridge Road, Sutton, Ma. 01590.
