MILLBURY Irma I (Sandell) Kotilainen, 89, formerly of Alpine St. died Wednesday, Feb. 23rd in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester.
Her husband, Toivo M. Kotilainen, died in 1986. She leaves a son, Peter W. Kotillainen of Harvard; a daughter, Paula L. Lantz of Groton; five grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Tampere, Finland, daughter of John H. and Bertha M. (Mattsson) Sandell and had lived in Millbury since 1940.
Mrs. Kotilainen was a teller and a customer service person at the Millbury Savings Bank for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Kotilainen was a member of the Millbury WomanTM)s Club for over 50 years, a member of the Pakachoag Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Auburn and a former member and past Matron of the Adah Chapter of the Easter Star in Millbury and a member of the YWCA Syncromaids.
Her funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 27th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27th in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Central Cemetery, Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Millbury Historical Society, P.O. Box 367, Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Heifer Project International Inc., 216 Wachusett St., Rutland, MA 01543.
