MILLBURY – Isabelle P. (Powers) Edwards Luthman, 92, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones after suffering a stroke and failing health.
Her husband Raymond "Pete" Luthman died in 1996 and her first husband, Malvin
E. Edwards died in 1953. She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters, Phyllis A. Weatherbee with whom she lived and who was her primary caregiver and Linda L. Robinson and her husband, C. Marlin Robinson of Millbury; a son, Malvin E. Edwards of Florida; grandchildren, including her grandson, Gene R. Weatherbee and his wife, Wanda of Mt. Juliet, TN; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Jessie A. Madigan who has lived with her for the past 6 years and was able to share a lot of time and childhood memories together; a brother, Roy a Powers and his wife, Betty of Worcester and nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Mary (Dixon) Powers, and two brothers, Raymond "Buddy" Powers and James Powers. Isabelle was also known as "Ma" and was loved by Jean LeBlanc of Millbury and James R. Gilpatric of Natick. She will be missed by her dogs, but especially "Katie" who she had a special bond with.
Isabelle retired from Howard Glass Co. many years ago. She was also a nurse's aide for many years. She enjoyed going for long rides, using her computer to solve puzzles and playing games right up to a few weeks before her death.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27th in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury.
