MILLBURY – Ivy D. (Grimbly) Tower, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 23rd, surrounded by her loving family.
Ivy leaves her children, William Tower and his wife Bridget, Keith Tower and his wife JoAnn, Karen Olney and her husband Al, Patricia Yursha and her husband Carmen, Wayne Tower and his wife Mary, and Mark Tower and his wife Cheryl; thirteen grandchildren: Julie Convery and Nicholas Tower, Kelli and Matthew Tower, Stephanie/Teevan Mahan, Samantha Lolax, Krystle Rutkiewicz, Jonathan Yursha, Brittany Burlingame, Meaghan Tower and Katie Conrad, Zackary and Josh Tower; fifteen great grandchildren: Kaitlin, Ivy, Ben, Lucan, Hazel, Alex, Grace, Alivia, Addison, Samuel, Charlotte, Lincoln, Lucas, Kristopher and Liliana; her sister, Phyllis Welch of Edmonton, Alberta. Ivy is proceeded by her husband of 64 years Arthur R Tower, and her great grandson Carter Tower Lolax and her brothers Percy and Richard Grimbly
Ivy was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Grimbly, and lived in Canada and Worcester before moving to Millbury in 1960, She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in the Wilkinsonville section of Sutton and worked many years at O.K Outlet and after retirement she worked with her daughter Karen at University Commons, in her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, Ivy was a very talented artist and enjoyed spending time in her gardens. She also loved to travel and especially visiting her family in Canada. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandkids. We would like to Thank Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving support of our mother. We also would like to thank the staff for their excellent care.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Ivy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, Sept. 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27th at 11 a.m. in Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 3 Pleasant Street in Sutton. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
