MILLBURY – James J. Baltramaitis, 51, died Monday, August 24th in his home with his family at his side, after enduring a long illness.
He leaves his beloved daughter, Brittany L. Baltramaitis; a step-daughter, Alexis McCullough; his step-mother, Dorothy (Stelmach) Baltramaitis of Millbury; two sisters, Jean M. wife of Mark Gawronski and Rosemary wife of James Army both of Millbury; three brothers, Joseph J. Baltramaitis III and is wife Debra of Linwood, Robert L. Baltramaitis and is wife Phyllis of Worcester and David Stanley and his wife Lucy of Uxbridge; nephews and nieces. He was born the son of Joseph J. Baltramaitis, and Marion K. Stanley.
Jim served his country as a specialist in the U.S. Army. Jim did a tour of duty in Korea, and with the 73rd Armor Division in St. Lewis, CA. James had a passion for photography, and his work took him to places throughout the US. When he decided to settle back home, he became a member of Local 170, and worked as a forklift operator for Sack Storage Corporation. Jim was also a member of the Brown Square Civic club of Worcester. Jim was a very special person with a heart of gold, and was always known as a person that would help anyone in need. Fueled by his love of family, James battled his cancer with determination and dignity for 14 months, selflessly trying to find a way to make his suffering easier on those around him. He fought without complaining or questioning, inspiring anyone near him to appreciate life. He was a hero to us all.
His funeral will be held Thursday, August 27th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01740.
