MILLBURY – James W. "Sonny" Cristo Jr., 91, died Wednesday, April 1st at St Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester.
His wife, Rose B. (Krzyzewski) Cristo died in 2006. He leaves two children, Nancy Ann Small and her husband, Les of Dayton, Ohio and James W. Cristo III and his wife, Cindy of Millbury; grandchildren, Ann-Marie, Cathy and Chris Small, Jenny St. Germain, Jim, Chris and Lauren Cristo and Stephanie Yousef; great grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob and Jessica Cristo, Evan and Aubree St.Germain, Lily Yousef and Caroline Small; a sister, Margaret Boutilier of Millbury; nephew and nieces. He is predeceased by a daughter, Rosemary and a son, Peter P. Cristo and his wife, Michele, two brothers, Thomas N. Cristo and Joseph F. Cristo and two sisters, Helen Warren and Beatrice Trombowicz.
Jim owned and operated a small engine repair business in Millbury for many years. He was a decorated WW II Army veteran serving at the Battle of the Bulge and was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post, the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post and the Millbury Veterans Council.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, April 8th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 7th in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Member of the Millbury veteran's organizations will meet for a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
