James E. Farrell, 73, passed away surrounded by his loving family Sunday, April 5th at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Frances M. (Savageaux) Farrell; two sons, Patrick J. Farrell and his wife, Deborah of Worcester and Andrew P. Farrell and his girlfriend, Julie Pikiel of Millbury; three grandchildren, Abigail, James and Daniel; a brother, John G. Farrell of Bellingham; two sisters, Patricia J. Murphy of Worcester and Susan J. Paquin of Auburn; many nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Francis J. and Veronica M. (Balukonis) Farrell and a brother, Francis J. Farrell, Jr.
Jim was a graduate of North High School in Worcester. He was a member of the Worcester Men of Song and American Legion Post 435 in Worcester. Jim worked many years for Purolator Courier in Boston. He was extremely proud of his Irish Heritage.
Jim's funeral will be held on Thursday, April 9th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will follow in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
