MILLBURY James P. Gannon Jr. 71, died Saturday, June 19th peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and his beloved dog Molly, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Beverly E. (Choquette) Gannon; four children, Pamela E. Allard and her husband, Arthur of Millbury, James P. Gannon III and his wife, Michelle of Douglas, Glenn Gannon and his wife, Lori of Northbridge and Kimberly Payva and her husband, Dante of Millbury; five grandchildren, Alexa Rae and Brianna Allard, Jameson Gannon, Chrissa and Connor Gannon. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, James and Amelia M. (Valeski) Gannon and two sisters.
Mr. Gannon was a Butcher and meat manager at Stop & Shop Supermarkets for forty years, before he retired. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was also well known for his deer cutting services. He was a beloved, husband, father and grandfather and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also proud of his Irish heritage.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 23rd from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22nd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barton Center for Diabetes Education Inc., 30 Ennis Rd., P.O. Box 356, North Oxford, MA 02537-0356.
