WORCESTER – James H. "Runner" Kupfer, 70, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in his home after being stricken ill.
He leaves a daughter, Jacqueline M. Gabbett and her husband, Kevin of Worcester; a brother, Charles P. Kupfer and his wife, Susan of Millbury; five grandchildren, Ronnie, Jason and Matthew Kupfer and Kevin and Ryan Gabbett; seven great grandchildren; a niece, Christine Maselli of Grafton; a devoted friend, Denise Sabonaitis. He was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Catherine A. (Miner) Kupfer a brother, Donald Kupfer and a son Ronald Kupfer.
James was a brakeman for the New York Central Railroad, retiring in 1997 due to illness. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
His calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23rd followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury.
