SUTTON - James "Jim" Lemoine, 66, of Sutton, formerly of Millbury, died peacefully after a long illness, February 26th in Worcester.
Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Melissa Lemoine of North Oxford; his step-daughters, Kim O'Connell of West Palm Beach, FL and Wendy Petit of Southbridge; his granddaughter, Leigha Lemoine; his sisters, Janice Lemoine of Marstons Mills, Deborah McCrory of Mebane, NC, Kathleen Beeman of Cedar Grove, NC, and Elizabeth Causey of Auburn; his brothers, Jeffrey Lemoine of Worcester, Timothy Lemoine of Millbury, and Bruce Lemoine of Seymour, CT; several nieces and nephews and his special friend, F.A.B. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Christopher Lemoine.
Jim was born in Worcester to Ernest and Bernadine (Daley) Lemoine. He was an Army veteran, served one tour in Vietnam obtaining the rank of Special 5th class and then came home and became a chef. He worked for many years in the kitchens at Franklin Manor in West Boylston and the Webster House in Worcester. He also owned his own restaurant, The Home Plate in Westborough.
Jim loved to play cards and cribbage. He was member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury and the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton. He spent a lot of his time at the Sutton Senior Center where he enjoyed gardening and playing cards. He was passionate about cooking and enjoyed feeding his family, friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the hospital, hospice, and medical staff for their dedicated care of Jim. They would also like to thank his friends and neighbors at the Sutton Housing complex for always looking out for him. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family.
