Jane Frances Lonergan, 82, formerly of Millbury, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, Dec. 22nd in Life Care Center of Auburn.

Jane is predeceased by her parents, Paul F. and Gertrude T. (Donahue) Lonergan; her brother, Paul R. Lonergan; beloved gram, Mary (McGrath) Donahue and her dedicated four legged children, Teddy, Tess, Tillie, Trixie and Timothy.  She leaves a cousin, Dottie Amuso of Pittsfield; very dear friends, Jeanne Reilly and her family of Spencer, Roberta and Harold Pierce and their family of Spencer and Teresa Pietro and her family of Leicester; her beloved dog, Tiny Tim.

Jane graduated from Millbury High School in 1952.  She received a bachelor’s degree at Worcester State Teachers College in 1956 and a master’s degree in special education at Worcester State College in 1964.  She worked at the Mercy Center in Worcester for 36 years, retiring in 2000.  After her retirement Jane volunteered at the Hermitage Rehabilitation Center in Worcester for 10 years.  Jane was a former member of the Emerald Club and Mass Association of Rehabilitation Facilities. She had a great love for all her dogs, especially the Keeshond breed.

Jane loved her family, friends, her faith, Irish heritage, her country, the ocean, the Boston Red Sox and especially her six four legged children.  The family would also like to thank all the staff of the Brookdale at Eddy Pond in Auburn and the Life Care Center of Auburn for all their love, care and support.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jane’s life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, Dec. 27th from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her funeral service will be celebrated following the calling hours at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury.  Burial will follow at St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
