Jason Bristol

MILLBURY – Jason F. Bristol, 45, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 13th.

Jason leaves his three children, Julia, Jenna and Jaclyn Bristol all of Millbury; his former wife, Jessica (Berry) Bristol of Millbury; his mother, Glenda (Porter) Hatch & Michael Mazzilli of Millbury; a sister, Dawna Caplette and her husband, Fred of Oregon; two brothers, Chad Bristol and his wife, Lisa of Millbury and Dean Hatch and his wife, Lisa of Dudley; many nieces and nephews.

Jason loved sports.  He played baseball & football throughout his high school career, receiving the Steve Snyder award in his last Thanksgiving Day game in 1991.  After running the disrupted 2013 Boston Marathon, he completed the race again in 2014.  He dedicated much of his adult life to coaching.  Jason served as a minor league coach for Oxford Little League baseball for 4 years and coached each of his girls through various soccer leagues for the last 10 plus years.  He boxed in charity matches vs the Mass State Police for Give Kids a Fighting Chance, and also competed at Mohegan Sun in a NAGA Mixed Martial Arts fight.

Jason was dedicated to public service, giving 4 years to the US Army Reserves, 2 years as a Millbury Police Dispatcher, and over 15 years as a Worcester County Correctional Officer.  He achieved a rank of Sergeant and Senior Team Leader of the Special Operations Group, receiving multiple awards and accommodations.  Jason also ran a charity golf fundraiser to honor his best friend Keith Lapierre for 7 years raising thousands of scholarship dollars.

An outdoor enthusiast, Jason could often be found with his girls at Horseneck Beach, running a Tough Mudder, golfing with friends or working in the yard with his usual determined attention to detail, his beloved dog Harley at his side.  He ran Bristol Boot Camp for children of friends to inspire good health, and loved having cookouts and campfires with friends and family.  Never one to sit still for very long, Jason lived a full life given the short number of years he was with us.  He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jason’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, May 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N.
