Jay H. Rabidou, 55 of Worcester, passed away at his home in Washington Heights Apartments where he resided for 29 years.
He is the brother of Steven Rabidou and his wife Bernice of Westborough, his sister Janice Maiorano and her husband Steven of Millbury, his brother Michael Rabidou and his wife Theresa of North Brookfield, and his sister Lori Gaetani and her husband Francis of Sutton. Jay's brother Kevin K. Rabidou, a decorated Vietnam veteran died in 1983. He is also survived by a niece and seven nephews and a great niece and five great-nephews.
Jay worked for several employers including Data General, Magic Motors and E.L. Harvey & Sons.
Jay enjoyed helping people. He was a loving and kind person. He was very close to all his family and the best days for Jay were when he was spending time at his family's homes working on projects with them.
Whether it was working on their lawns and gardens, detailing cars or cleaning windows, he always wanted to be busy and help. Family outings, holidays and watching the Patriots made him the happiest.
Jay was an avid and skilled bicycle rider. There was nothing he didn't know about bikes. He spent many years riding throughout the city and meeting people.
He was the first to help anyone he ran into that was having a problem. He knew most of the Worcester Police and always tried to help them if he could. He had great respect for law enforcement and proudly wore a State Police Emblem on his baseball cap.
Jay loved music, the Cape, skiing, playing hockey, being outdoors and of course cycling.
Jay was kind, giving and had the biggest heart. He made everyone around him better, and he will be sorely missed by all his family.
Jay's funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29th at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road in Sutton. Burial will be private.
His calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 28th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
