MILLBURY Jay L. Underhill, 78, of Millbury, MA, formerly of Plainville, MA and Edenton, NC, died Thursday, June 21st in his home. He leaves his wife, Elma M. (Schnack) Underhill; a brother of John G. Underhill of Worcester; a daughter, Sarah E. Underhill of Lowell; a son, Jonathan M. Underhill and his wife Lynn of Attleboro; three grandchildren, Jonathan M. Underhill, Jr., Matthew J. Underhill and Brian V. Parker.
Mr. Underhill was a graduate of North Attleboro High School and the University of Vermont. He was Army veteran of the Korean War and longtime owner/manager of the North Attleboro Gas Co., until retiring in 1987.
Private services will be held with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, North Attleboro, MA. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals, Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to UMASS Memorial Hospice, UMASS Memorial Foundation P.O. 2795, Worcester, MA 01613-9938.
