MILLBURY – Jeryl A. (Picking) Anderson, 45, died Sunday, Aug. 16th in her home, surrounded by her family and friends, after a brief struggle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She leaves her loving family, her husband, Robert Anderson; her children, who she adored, Scott and Valerie; her parents, Bob and Ginny Picking of Millbury; a brother, John and his wife Nancy Picking, Jeryl's best friend and their children, Rob & Larissa; a special aunt and uncle Everett and Janet Grahn of Millbury and a uncle Joe Wilbur of Millbury; cousins, Steven and Michelle Grahn and their children, Samantha and Rebecca of Leicester, Barry and Kathy Grahn and their children, Christopher and Matthew of New Jersey; a sister- in-law and her husband Lynn and Joe Quitadamo and their children Emily and Joey of Worcester.
Jeryl graduated from Millbury Memorial High School and attended New Hampshire College. She then worked at Ballard Mack Sales in Worcester for 25 years. Her family would like to thank Dr. William Walsh, his team and all the nurses and PCA's on the 7th floor at UMASS, University Campus and the UMASS Hospice, for their loving care. Also to her many many friends and the Ballard Mack family (where she was affectionately known as Scoop) thank you for all your love, support, prayers and acts of kindness. Jeryl was a life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She loved her church and her church family. She was very active in all church activities, including a member of the church council and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Jeryl enjoyed reading, vacationing, being at the lake house with her whole family and she loved her cat Sadie May.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22nd in Central Cemetery in Millbury, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, 01607.
