Jesse William Birt, 28, died suddenly at home on August 6, 2017. Jesse was born in Worcester, and was raised in Millbury. Jesse attended Millbury Memorial High school and worked as a cook at Pub 122 Restaurant in Grafton, MA.
He is survived by his mother Lisa (Army) Dempsey, her husband Jeffrey, his father Jesse C. Birt, three brothers, Jarrod and Patrick Birt and Brian Dempsey, a sister Jillian Dempsey, his maternal grandparents, James and Rosemary Army. He is the beloved uncle of Amanda, Giana, Jayden, Maylene, EJ, and Erika. Jesse leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were very close to him. He is predeceased by his oldest brother, Keven James True who died in 2011 and his paternal grandparents William and Harriet Birt.
Jesse William Birt, Jessie Bean, Jess, Uncle Jesse, and Couch, all these names he was known and called by. Jesse was a lot of things and we had a name for every one of them. If you knew Jesse, then you knew what a teddy bear he was. He had an air of clumsy swagger mixed with lady killing charm. He was a loyal friend and an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews who adored him and rightfully so. But to us, he was simply Jess. His calming words brought us back down to earth, many times, and he always had the time to listen to even the most trivial of problems. We can say with certainty that our lives are a little less bright, a little less funny, but we know Jesse wouldn’t want that. We should honor Jesse’s memory by living each day a little better and happier than the last and to learn to laugh a little more. We’re positive that’s what Jesse would want.
Jesse’s calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Aug.15th from 5 to 8 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. all in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury. His graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 16th at 11 a.m. in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Memorial contributions may be made to, Just a Little Help Burial Funds, P.O.
