Joanne M. Born

MILLBURY - Joanne M. Born, 69, of Millbury passed away peacefully on August 23rd after a period of declining health.  She is survived by her twin brother, Jeffrey Born of Auburn, her nephew, Timothy T. Born and his partner, Matthew Marchand, of Worcester.  Joanne is predeceased by her parents, Loretta (Vigeant) Born and Reinhard Born, and her younger brothers, Michael and Steven Born.

Joanne graduated from Worcester State College and was a buyer at Rotman’s Furniture for over 35 years before retiring.  She also enjoyed helping run the Auburn Antique Flea Market many years ago. She was an avid reader and frequent visitor to the Millbury Public Library. She loved working in her gardens at the Born family home. Her creative eye for art, design, and fashion were some of her passions.

Joanne leaves her dear friends Elaine Loehman and William Holmes.  The family expresses deep gratitude and appreciation to Joanne’s close friends and caring neighbors, Barbara and Danny Burmer.  She also leaves her former sister-in-law, Pauline Tranter, and many surviving cousins including the Vigeant’s of Wilkinsonville, Rodominick’s of Grafton, and Grinsell/Shaw cousins of Connecticut.

Joanne's Funeral Mass will be held at St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St., Millbury on Saturday, September 16th at 10:00 AM.  There are no calling hours.  Joanne will be privately laid to rest at a later date with her mother in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
