John A. Fitzpatrick, 48, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
John was born in Worcester to James and Judith (Spang) Fitzpatrick. John is survived by his mother Judith, his four brothers, Peter Fitzpatrick and his wife Dion of Sutton, James Fitzpatrick and his wife Jackie of Millbury, Paul Fitzpatrick and his wife Mary of Cumberland, Maine and Matthew Fitzpatrick and significant other Teri Millette of Millbury. John is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, Dana, Sean, Jim, Eric, Rachel Olivia, Damien and Brendan; one great grandniece, Elisabeth. John is recently predeceased by his father James.
John attended Millbury schools, graduating from Millbury Memorial High School in 1983. He attended Worcester State College and Quinsigamond Community College. John was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan who loved to spend time with his friends and brothers fishing, bow hunting, golfing, snowmobiling and watching his favorite teams through all seasons. John was a co-founder and organizer of the Putnam Cup Whiffle Ball Tournament for 25 years. John was the owner of Do It 4 U, a Marine service business that he operated until 2012. John was a loyal friend and hard-working man who will be sorely missed. John's family would like to acknowledge the special care and support that he received from the oncology nurses at St. Vincent's Hospital and the friends who visited him throughout his courageous battle. John is now in a more comfortable place where he is reunited with his father, grandparents and other loved ones.
John's calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 6th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private.
