MILLBURY – John Henry Hancock, 63, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 12, 2011 in his home in Millbury.
Born and raised in Rockland County, New York, he was the son of the late George Hancock and Dorothy (Gress) Hancock.
He is survived by his beloved wife Louise Hancock, of Millbury, his daughter, Kimberly Lincoln and her husband Allen Lincoln of Framingham, their children, Cora Lincoln, Olivia Lincoln, and Benjamin Lincoln, his daughter Linda Bernier and her husband Jean of Warren, and their children, John Tetreault of Millbury, Christopher Tetreault of Warren, and Alycia Bernier of Warren.
John is also survived by his sister Mabel of Florida and her children, Debbie Trahanas of Florida and Rodney (Butch) Artrip also of Florida.
He was the brother of Linda (Hancock) Makins of Piermont, NY who passed away in November of 2008, and he leaves her children, David Makins of Pennsylvania, Donald Makins of New York, Lori Makins of New York, and Theresa Makins of New York.
John was a life-long papermaker and worked first for the Clevepak Corporation in Piermont, NY before transferring to the Newark Group in 1982. Through his hard work and dedication he became superintendent and earned the respect of his colleagues. He also made many life-long friends. His love for his family and his down-to-earth nature were just some of his wonderful traits. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
He is predeceased by his children, Patricia Hancock, George Hancock, and John Hancock, who passed away several years ago but they have always remained close to his heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to John's calling hours on Friday, November 18th from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. His funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
