SANDWICH WORCESTER MILLBURY- John A. Howard, 94, of Sandwich, formerly Worcester and South Main St. in Millbury, died Friday, Dec. 7th in Falmouth Hospital.
His wife of 53 years, Thelma I. (Lawes) Howard, died in 1998. He leaves a son, Robert H. Howard with whom he lived in Sandwich; two daughters, Janet R. and her husband, Charles W. Bauer of Evergreen, Colo. and Carolyn E. and her husband, Gary L. Hebert of Marblehead; a brother, Charles Howard of Millbury; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was bon in Millbury and is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Agnes (Johnston) Howard and three brothers, Harold, Joseph and Stephen Howard.
Mr. Howard formerly worked at the New England High Carbon Wire Co. in Millbury and was an Army veteran during WW II serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12th in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11th in Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 Main St., Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
