SUTTON – John W. Krula, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 30th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife, Mary M. (O’Brien) Krula; a son, John F. Krula and his wife Denise of Sutton; three step-daughters, Patricia A. Dowd of Grafton, Linda Johnson and Lynn of Douglas and Susan Penner and her husband, Michael of Wrentham; two grandchildren, Victoria and John Krula; four step-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Moore and Michael and Maxwell Penner; four great grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Krula and his wife, Florence of Florida; a sister, Dolores Collette and her husband Alan of East Dennis; nephews and nieces. He was born in Grafton and is predeceased by his parents Waleryan and Josefa (Sulak) Krula and his first wife, Barbara G. (Champagny) Krula, a step-son, Michael Fitzgerald, three sisters, Sophie Adams, Veronica Krula and Carrie Knapik and two brothers, Joseph Krula and Thadeus Krula.
He was a pipe fitter for the former Sutton Fuel Company and Marane Oil. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War and was a member of the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497 in South Grafton.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4th at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main St. Millbury. His funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct 5th at St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road in Sutton and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St. Worcester, MA 01605.
