Millbury, MA / DUBLIN, CA - John J. Mahoney, 89, formerly of Millbury, MA, died Wednesday, February 20th in the Pleasanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in California, after an illness.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna, and their son Thomas. He leaves his daughter Carolyn Daw of Dublin and her husband Clifford Daw, Jr.; 2 grandchildren ; 1 great grandson; a brother James Mahoney of Millbury; and many nieces & nephews.
He was an Army Air Forces Veteran during WW II. He worked as a screw-machine operator for General Electric until he retired in 1980. He was a long-time member of the Auburn Sportsman Club, and was an avid fisherman. He was also a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Grafton St. in Worcester.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28th in the Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 Main St., Millbury. Entombment will be at Notre Dame Mausoleum in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charities of the donors choice.
