John Mckinley

October 12, 1933 — January 5, 2010

MILLBURY – John R. McKinley, 76, formerly of Vermont, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 5th in his home with his love ones by his side, after a long courageous battle with Lewy Body Disease.

He leaves his sweetheart of 40 years and primary care giver, Nancy V. Graber; two sons, Keith McKinley and his wife, Pam and James McKinley and his wife, Kathy all of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Brian, Kelly, Madison and Megan; a sister-in-law, Christine Robbins of Worcester; two nieces, Corrina Poole and Tricia Leto, who also deeply cared for him. He was born in New York, son of John A. and Clairborne (Reynolds) McKinley.

He graduated from Norwich University in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army as a tank unit commander with an honorable discharge as a Captain. He was a self employed insurance broker prior to retiring in 2003. He spent the last 20 years of work in Vermont where he resided until 2005. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler. His sense of humor and quick wit will be sadly missed by those who knew him. He was also a friend of Bill W's.

Jack's family would like to extend special thanks to "Patrick", his caregiver, for his hard work, long time support and dedication.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan, 7th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Assoc., 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW, Suite 202C. Atlanta, GA 30047.
