MILLBURY – John “Butch” J. O’Donnell, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 1st at home surrounded by his loving family.
John leaves his wife of 39 years, Karen K. (Pojani) O’Donnell; his son, Ryan C. O’Donnell of Millbury and he is predeceased by his daughter, Erin E. O’Donnell. John also leaves three sisters, Patty Monz of Arizona, Joan O’Donnell of Worcester and Kathleen Welch of Florida; a brother, Charles Perks of Webster; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, John J. O'Donnell and Dorothy M. (McNutt) Perks.
John was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed sports and watching the Patriots and Red Sox. John’s passion was music and loved listening to the Beatles. He was an avid cook and was a former member of the Millbury Lions Club for many years. Most of all Butch loved spending time with his family and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Butch’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6th at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 12 Waters Street in Millbury. Burial will follow at West Millbury Cemetery.
