MILLBURY - John W. "Jack" Wagner, 68 of Millbury, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 10th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, after a long illness.
Jack was born in Pinewall, New Jersey, son of the late Jacob and Dorothy Klein Wagner and moved to Massachusetts in 1961.
He graduated from Freehold High School, Freehold, New Jersey and went on to serve his country in the Army from 1957 to 1960. He worked for many years as a supervisor at Semtech Corporation of Worcester and Millbury Engineering.
Jack was an accomplished musician and played both the guitar & saxophone. He enjoyed building model aircraft and was known for his woodworking talents and ability to fix just about anything.
He leaves a son, John W. Wagner, Jr. and his wife Lynne of Sutton, MA, a daughter, Susan J. Wagner Weaver and her husband, Daniel of Millbury, MA, and a son Scott R. Wagner and his wife Joanna of Grafton, MA, 10 grandchildren: Nicole, Kristen, Jennifer, Jacob and Haylee Wagner; Robert and Rachel Wagner; and Ryan, Lauryn and Devin Weaver. He also leaves two sisters, Lola Von Steenburg and her husband Allen of The Villages, FL; Joan Silvers of Jackson, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006
