MILLBURY - John A. Zemaitis, 86, of 1 Heather Ave., died Monday, March 11, in the Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Dr., Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Katherine A. (Kacevich) Zemaitis; three daughters, Carolyn Zaklow and Nancy Mangano both of Millbury and Elizabeth Sparrow of Middleboro; a son, John A. Zemaitis Jr. of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Matilda Kortes of Rutland and Eugenia Zemaitis of Holden; a brother, Vitie Zemaitis of Lake Elsimore, California; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Michael and Mary (Palubeckas) Zemaitis and moved to Millbury in 1941. He graduated from the former Commerce High School and the Worcester Boys Trade High School, both in Worcester..
Mr. Zemaitis was a shop foreman at Barrett Centrifugals Inc. for 44 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church, the Millbury Council on Aging, the Millbury Golden Age, Friends of the Millbury Seniors and the Lithuanian Naturalization Club in Worcester.
The funeral will be held Thursday, March 14, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., (

) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice, Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worceser, Ma. 01608-1280.
