Jon Larose

MILLBURY - Jon Jay LaRose, 38, passed on the morning of Wednesday, July 11th unexpectedly after a lengthy illness.  He proudly served in the Marine Corps after graduation. Among his many medals he received two medals for Distinguished Service.  After leaving the Corps he attended Salem State University.

Jon was predeceased by his father, John who passed in November of 1988.  He leaves two beloved daughters, Raeanne and Jocelyn of whom he was very proud; his mother and stepfather Martha and Richard Sampson, his brother and family, Mike and Erin LaRose, Trent, Dominic, Ceara, Gabriella, and Michelle; his Aunts Susan Sirmans, Nancy White, and Kathy Skipper, his Uncle Robert LaRose and numerous cousins.

He had a great passion for cooking and worked in the food industry including being a chef at the One Eleven Chop House.  He also worked as a substance abuse counselor at the Soldiers On in North Hampton. He had a kind and compassionate spirit, a quick wit and a great sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him, especially his deep belly laugh.  He loved sports, especially hockey and played on a Marine Corps team in CA which won a championship. He had a way with animals. Loki his Service Dog was his constant and loyal companion.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jon’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, July 16th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals located at 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.  His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17th at St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury and burial will follow in West Millbury Cemetery in West Millbury.  In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
