Joseph Antaya

OXFORD/MILLBURY – Joseph E. Antaya, Jr., 66, died Monday, June 7th in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph leaves his wife of 40 years, Donna A. (DiCandia) Antaya; three children, Sherry Rheault and her husband Randy of Millbury, Joseph E. Antaya, III and his wife Lori-Beth Porter of Upton and David M. Antaya of Oxford; his mother, Katherine L. Antaya of ME; five grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Brianna, Lora and Joseph; two sisters, Louise K. Dubois of Winchendon and Marie F. Angers of Sturbridge; three brothers, John P. Antaya of Paxton, Peter D. Antaya and Paul D. Antaya both of Sutton; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Machias, ME and is predeceased by his father, Joseph E. Antaya and a sister, Nancy A. Karsok.

Joseph graduated from Millbury High School and then immediately entered the Navy in 1964. He worked for the Mass D.P.W for many years. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in Maine with family, friends and especially with his Uncle Gardner.

His funeral will be held Friday, June 11th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are the morning of the funeral from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The family has requested that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701.
