Joseph Karas

BROOKFIELD Joseph A. Karas, 71, of 29 Deer Run, died Sunday, Aug. 21st in his home, after an illness.

He leaves his wife, June E. (White) Karas; five children, Melody L. Spence of North Brookfield, Steve Karas, Cindy DeLeeuw, Monica Martin and Jackie Heniser all of Michigan; three step-children, Jean Joseph of R.I., Ernest Eldridge Jr. and Wayne Eldridge both of Spencer; a sister, Bernice Kurtz of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Freesoil, MI, son of Ladislaus and Josephine (Kniola) Karas and came to Massachusetts five years ago.

Mr. Karas was a plant manager at Akzo Salt Co, in Michigan, before he retired. He was an Army veteran serving in Germany and France.

JosephTM)s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26th in the West Sutton Baptist Church, Central Turnpike, Sutton. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery, Sutton. Calling hours are 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday Aug. 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Rt. 122A, Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Quaboug Valley Baptist Church, 173 Fiskdale Rd., Brookfield, MA 01506.
