MILLBURY - Joseph R. Morin, 73, of 10 Pond Terrace in Millbury, formerly of Sutton, died Friday, Jan. 18th in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Northbridge.
He leaves a sister, C. Dolores "Dolly" St. George of North Port, FL; two brothers, Donald Morin of Hemstead, NY and Daniel Morin of Northbridge; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Frederick L. and Christine V. (Bastine) Morin; two brothers, Frederick A. Morin of Shrewsbury and William Morin of Wildwood, Florida.
Joseph was a compositor for the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, before he retired in 2000. He also formerly wrote the column, Bits 'n Pieces, for the Millbury Sutton Chronicle and he had his own blog articles on the Telegram & Gazette web-site. He was an Army veteran serving with the 92nd and 20th Engineers stationed in Stuttgart Germany during the Korean War. He was a youth counselor at the St. Anne's Church in Manchaug and St. Mark's Church in Sutton. He was also involved in the Boy Scout program.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23rd from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in private in West Sutton Cemetery, Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 22nd in the funeral home.
