MILLBURY/CASA GRANDE, AZ – Joseph V. Valley, 80, formerly of Millbury died Sunday, March 21st in Casa Grande, AZ where he lived with his daughter.
He was born in Ware, MA, son of Joseph and Mary (McKeon) Valley and raised in East Brookfield. He graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer. Upon graduation, he served in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. After being discharged, he attended and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, CT. He was a food service director for many years in schools and colleges throughout New England. He finally retired from General Motors in Framingham.
Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Ingrid L. (Johnson) Valley and leaves behind a daughter, Ann wife of Scott Wiberg of Casa Grande, Arizona, two grandsons, Joshua and Brendan, his sister Joanne Florou of Spencer, a niece Cindi Florou of Connecticut, as well as sister in-laws and brother in-laws and several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10th in Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen St., in East Brookfield. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Family Care Foundation, 1550 S. Alma School Road Suite 280, Mesa, AZ, 85210.
