MILLBURY/WORCESTER – Joseph D. Vangos, 23, died April 13, 2012 unexpectedly at his father's home in Worcester.
He leaves his mother, JoAnn M. (Dumas) Vangos Girouard of Millbury; his father, Christos D. Vangos of Worcester; his sister, Stacey Vangos of Millbury, his step-father, Philip Girouard of Millbury; a step-brother, Philip D. Girouard II of Millbury; his paternal grandparents, Donatos A. and Pauline D. (Bistas) Vangos of Worcester; his maternal grandfather, Joseph R. Dumas of Millbury and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Constance V. (Carlstrom) Dumas.
Joe attended Millbury Memorial High School and then earned his GED. He played youth sports for the town of Millbury as a child. Joe was a free spirit and took life as it came. He recently was in Minnesota trying a new lifestyle when he came home to help ill family members.
He had several jobs in the area, the most recent as a tattoo apprentice at Skin Graf in Worcester. He was a self -proclaimed artist and was happiest at the tattoo shop or with a spray paint can in his hand, "creating."
Joe had an enormous circle of friends that will surely miss his big grin and enormous bear(d) hugs. To his family he was "Joey" - to his friends he was "DDJV, Dirty Dirty Joe Vangos, or The Big Dirt.

His funeral will be held Friday, April 20th at 11 a.m. in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lord's Builders in care of the Millbury Federated, 20 Main St. Millbury, MA 01527.
