Joyce D. Provencher passed into the arms of her Lord & Savior on May 16, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Herman & Loretta (Laporte) Devereaux.
She leaves her loving husband George E. Provencher on the day of their 49th anniversary. She also leaves 5 children, Crystal Poole and husband John O'Grady, William Poole and wife Anne, Joseph Poole, Dawn Johnson and Robin Powers, 3 grandchildren Jason Harthan and wife Colleen, Alicia Harthan, and Angela Powers and 2 great grandchildren Ivory Harthan and Travis Clapper. Her sister Marjoie (Norma) Dorey predeceased her. She is survived by 2 brothers Herman Devereaux, David Laporte and wife Jeanne, and her beloved niece Melody Buck, and many more extended family.
She graduated Commerce High school, then returned to school while raising her children, graduating with a teaching degree from Worcester State University in 1978. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years, then went into teaching, retiring from Worcester Public Schools in 2014. Joyce enjoyed spiritual interaction with her church family, going to the casino, vacations, motorcycle rides, reading, knitting, crafting and spending time with family and friends.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 24th at the Mulhane Funeral Home, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday May 25th at The Church of North American Martyrs, 8 Wynoma Drive in Auburn.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Church of North American Martyrs.
