SUTTON – Joyce C. Seaman (Hunt) passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by her beloved husband Bruce and her loving children.
Joyce leaves behind her husband of 27 years, Bruce Seaman and her beloved children, Michael Greenslit, Scott Greenslit (deceased) and Kim Naples; and her stepchildren Michael Seaman, Jeffrey Seaman (deceased). Jenifer Drapeau and Samantha Larson Joyce will forever be remembered as a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Ralph and Dorothy Hunt, and her sister Patricia Dunkin. Her surviving siblings, Carol Burt, Robert Hunt, Rodney Hunt, and Todd Hunt, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews, mourn her loss with deep affection.
A Life of Love and Service
Born and raised in Sutton, Joyce loved her hometown dearly, making countless fond memories horseback riding and cheering for Sutton High School, where she graduated in 1957. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl L. Greenslit, and began her career at The Telegram and Gazette.
In 1962, Joyce and her family moved to Homestead, Florida, enjoying the beaches, the Keys, and Fort Lauderdale. She worked as a secretary at Homestead City Hall and cherished her years there.
Returning to Sutton in 1980, Joyce immersed herself in her community and church, working at Wright Line and making memories with family at Hampton Beach. In 1984, she experienced the heartbreaking loss of Carl, her beloved husband.
In 1989, Joyce met Bruce Seaman, and they married in 1998. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing summers in Maine, family gatherings, and many memorable travels.
Joyce was a lifelong member of Sutton Congregational Church, singing in the choir and playing the chimes. Her spirit of service extended to the community through 20 years of dedication to Meals on Wheels. Joyce's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joyce’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road, Sutton Common with burial to follow in Howard Cemetery, Sutton.
