Joyce C. (Thomas) Watts, 73, died Friday, Jan. 23rd in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce's husband, Harold G. Watts died in 2008. She leaves two daughters, Debra J. Vescera and her husband, Stephen of Holden and Diane J. Marino and her husband, John of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Michael Brabbs, Jr. of San Diego, CA and Jennifer Brabbs and her fiancé, Andrew Gallerani of Townsend, MA; a great granddaughter, Nora Gallerani; a sister, JoanThurber and her husband, Donald of Northboro; two brothers, Stanley Thomas and James Thomas and his wife, Louise of Millbury; a sister-in-law, Joan Thomas. She also leaves the children and grandchildren of her husband, Harold Watts. She is predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Victoria (Biernat) Thomas and a brother, Leroy Thomas, Jr.
Joyce was a graduate of Millbury Memorial High School. She worked as medical secretary at Fallon Clinic in Worcester and previously as a supervisor at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Worcester. Joyce was devoted to her church community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Joyce will be remembered for her sense of humor and her hugs. The family would also like to thank the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Metro West Hospice for their care and compassion during Joyce's illness, with special thanks to Dr. Salvan and Dr. Goldman both of St. Vincent's Hospital.
Joyce's calling hours will be held on Sunday, Jan. 25th from 3 to 4 p.m. in Liberty Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury. Her funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. in the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
