AUBURN/WORCESTER - Judith A. Nelson, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 23rd at the Lutheran Home in Worcester.
Judy was born in Worcester, the daughter of Roland A. Nelson, Sr. and Ruth (Lawless) Nelson. She leaves three siblings, Roland A. Nelson, Jr. of Sterling, Ruth Ghosn of Mossyrock, WA and Russell Nelson of Millbury; three foster siblings, Eugene Mackay of Oxford, Carol Engstrand of Sutton and Sandra Martin of West Brookfield; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her foster parents, Vaughan and Dorothy Mackay and a brother, David P. Nelson, Sr.
Judy worked many years in the insurance industry for various insurance companies in Massachusetts. She volunteered for many organizations in the area that helped people with mental health issues. Judy graduated from Auburn High School and Clark University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1977. She was a member of Sturbridge Village for 40 years and she enjoyed history and genealogy. Judy enjoyed to travel, her coffee and loved being with family and friends. If Judy was to visit, you better of had a pot of coffee and plate of cookies.
Family and friends will honor and remember Judy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. Her funeral service and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
