MILLBURY – Julia E. “Blondie” (Symonaick) Gover, 90, passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Anthony and Helena (Ruchwa) Symonaick. After 65 years of marriage she was predeceased in 2014 by her husband Donald, whom she married in 1948.
Julie is survived by her children, Gordon D. Gover, his wife Nancy (Flower Mound, TX), Donna R. Nagelschmidt, her husband John (Millbury), Gary D. Gover, his partner Cookie Aubin (Sutton) and Darlene J. Burdzel, her husband Bill (Millbury). Affectionately called “Grammy” by her eight grandchildren; Mary, her wife Sarah Barchi, Claire, and Rose Nagelschmidt; Michael and Sarah Gover; Katie, Adam, and Nathan Burdzel. She leaves many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three brothers, Mack, Walter and Chester and three sisters, Anne Brunelle, Sophie Sharrocks, and Jane Mulhearn.
Julie valued her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother spending more than a decade caring for her mother-in-law. She loved her Thursday night bowling league, hosting New Year’s Eve and Clam Bakes, volunteering at a nursing home, her frequent Twin Rivers and Foxwoods outings, and decorating her house for family holidays. Prior to her marriage, Julie was employed at Telechron Clock; later she worked in the Millbury Public Schools’ as a “lunch lady” and Hebert Candies.

Family and friends will honor and remember Julie’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 3rd at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street in Worcester where she was a life-long communicant. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, Millbury.
