WORCESTER – June T. (Hatjakos) Buron, 80, died Saturday, June 18th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Wilfrid E. "Willie" Buron died in 2008. She leaves two daughters, Janet T. Connor and her husband, Stephen of Webster and Judith A. Shamaly and her husband, Peter of Worcester; a step-son, Richard A. Buron and his wife, Anna of West Boylston; a daughter-in-law, Veronica Gibson of CT; eight grandchildren, Tamara, Tanya, Amanda, Sean, Kali, Shannon, Jake and Luke; four great grandchildren, two sisters, Helen Rancke of Leicester and Constance Donohue of Worcester; a brother, George Hatjakos and his wife, Jeannette of Northborough; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Zissis and Theresa (Smith) Hatjakos, two sons, Joseph Buron and Gregory Gibson, and a sister, Marion Bandy.
June loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, reading and her pen pals. She was a strong and feisty woman, a great mother, a wonderful grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 22nd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21st in the funeral home.
