June L. (Wennerstrand) Eklund, 85, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
June leaves her husband of 61 years, William H. Eklund; three sons, Donald W. Eklund of Sutton, Paul W. Eklund and his wife, Patricia of Sutton and Richard W. Eklund and his wife, Hilary of Brandon, FL; a daughter, Nancy A. Ryan of Sutton; three grandchildren, John Eklund, Nicole and Mark Ryan; two sisters, Mildred Carlson of Worcester and Lois Dahlin and her husband, Richard of Holden; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Anton and Alma (Granlund) Wennerstrand, two brothers, George and Paul Wennerstrand and a sister, Evelyn Anderson.
June was a graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sutton and the church's Women's Fellowship. June worked in the banking industry before getting married and raising her children. Later in life June worked for the Benjamin Insurance Agency in Sutton before retiring in 1992.
June's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St in Millbury. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24th in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road, Sutton, MA 01590.
