August 7, 1953 — February 28, 2012

MILLBURY – Karen A. (Londergan) Brown, 58, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, surrounded by family in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a long battle with Scleroderma.

She leaves her husband Richard A. Brown; five children, Tim Land and his wife, Cats of OR, Richard Brown and his wife, Jennifer of FL, Matthew Pooler and his wife Brooke of Holland, Christie Pooler of Grafton and Heather Bell and her husband Chad of CT; six grandchildren, Tyler, Bryan, Kaitlyn, Bryar, Anna and Faith; her parents, Thomas and Lois (Anderson) Londergan of Worcester; a brother, Edward Londergan and his wife Barbara of Leicester; three nieces, Kerri, Erin, and Cassidy; as well as many other family and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Gardner.

Karen was a graduate of Burncoat High School and Quinsigamond Community College. She was a Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse. She worked at the former Westborough State Hospital for many years and the Worcester Day Habilitation Program, and then retired. She enjoyed long drives and country scenery, reading and bird watching and most of all she loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana and positive role model for anyone who came into contact with her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 2nd at 1:30 p.m. in the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 183 West Main St. in Westborough. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1st in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, Attn. Donations, 300 Rosewood Dr. Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.
