Karen Donovan

AUBURN – Karen Rose Donovan, 63, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2021 at home.

Karen was the daughter of William J. Donovan Sr. (deceased) and leaves her mother Eva (Rodrigue) Donovan of Millbury, two brothers William J. Donovan Jr. and his wife, Anneliese of North Oxford and Daniel J. Donovan and his wife, Mary of Corinna, ME; a sister Denise Rudolph and her husband, Larry of Millbury. She also leaves three nieces Kathryn Tibbetts of Elsworth, ME, Heather and Kristin Donovan of Millbury, a nephew Daniel J. Donovan of North Oxford and three step-nieces Becky Connor of Bangor, ME, Laura Jewell of Dover Foxcroft, ME and Sarah Thibodeau of Bradford, ME and grand-nephew Landen Remillard of Millbury. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

She graduated from Holy Name Central Catholic High School in 1975 and obtained her Associates Degree from Quinsigamond Community College in 1994 and was inducted to the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society of Community and Junior Colleges.

In July of 1976 she enlisted with the 1st Bn, 181st Infantry Regiment, Worcester, MA in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.  Throughout her military career, she worked in the administrative field until she became an instructor with the MA Regional Training Institute (formerly MMA).  She was Honorably discharged after almost 21 years of service.

Karen was notorious for her love of all things craft whether it be knitting, crocheting, or ceramics.  She loved to bake and share with her friends.  She was a member of the Auburn Sportsman’s Club for many years.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Karen’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, June 24th from 10 a.m. to Noon at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 North Main Street, Millbury, MA.

Her funeral service will follow the visitation at Noon in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
